Himalaya Diabecon DS Tablets is an ayurvedic and herbal preparation.  Diabecon DS Tablets is manufactured by Himalaya Drug Company. It is available in tablet form which is to be taken orally. 

Diabecon DS Tablets is mainly prescribed for diabetic patients. It is mainly used for non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) or type-2 diabetes. It also used as the secondary treatment for type-1 diabetes. Pancreatic beta cell secreted a hormone insulin that neutralizes excessive glucose concentration in the blood. Diabecon Tablets inhibits the lysis of the pancreatic beta cells, helps in their regeneration and supports insulin formation. It activates insulin secretion that maintains blood glucose level normal and treats hyperglycemia (elevated blood sugar concentration). 

Shilajeet, gymnema’s (meshashringi), and Indian Kino tree’s (pitasara) are the key ingredients of this preparation. Here are the health benefits of each of these:

Gymnema’s (meshashringi) has phytoactive constituent gymnemic acid that decreases elevated glucose concentration in the blood. It regenerates pancreatic beta cells and stimulates insulin formation. Indian kino tree’s (pitasara) contains epicatechin as the active phytoconstituent. It inhibits the enzyme alpha-glucosidase (an enzyme that degrades carbohydrate to glucose) and delayed glucose absorption. It also controls the key enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism.
